CHAPTER NINE

I thought more about Ridley’s assessment of the situation.

It was definitely more than just coincidental.

My story included unexplainable murders in the beginning. The protagonist discovers that it’s a monster possessing all of the predators’ best attributes. But it turned out it actually wasn’t paranormal. In the end, they figure out that the monster was basically an animal that was so endangered that it never was uncovered before. I know cryptozoologists are known for being Bigfoot seekers, but they actually do find and identify new creatures every day. In fact, pandas were an urban legend in China until enough people went deep enough in the woods to actually see them in the flesh.

But this real case felt different. I couldn’t explain it.

I sat at my computer with a large now-cold cup of coffee at the edge of my desk.

The hair changed colors on its own.

What the hell is going on here?
